Our History
About Janette Kinard
Hello, my name is Janette Kinard and I am the owner and visionary of Champion House of Care. For the past 20 years, I have educated and supported individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Several years ago, a parent asked me to consider opening my home as an Alternate Family Living (AFL) provider and I did. Over the summers and weekends, I began organizing small group outings and activities for individuals with I/DD. I continued to receive more and more requests from parents seeking a safe place for their young adult to go outside of school. Soon, Champion House of Care was officially started as a home-based adult care service. In 2017 we moved into our new center where we have various enrichment programs and social events that ensure self-determination for the individuals that we support. I hope that you will allow us to nurture the outstanding "Champion" in you.
