​For the past 20 years, Janette Kinard have educated and supported individuals with intellectual and developmental exceptionalities, including individuals with Autism and behavioral health needs. At Metro School (Charlotte, NC),  Janette was a first-responder for emergencies and the 2016 "I AM CMS" award recipient for Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools.
This award is presented to those who go beyond CMS standards and duties and is a token of my dedication and vision to always think of helping others.

Janette Kinard was inspired to start Champion House of Care because she recognized the need in our community for continued quality care and assistance as this population transitioned out of the education system and into their adult lives. We have a moral obligation to care for those who are unable to care for themselves. She could see the concern that parents expressed, "What will happen after graduation?"
